I found a poll being taken at Gamespot that asks players to list ten of their favorite games of all time. The results will be posted in the next issue of Computer Gaming World. I think we all know what game to vote for. :-D

An E3 preview featured a mention of I-War II. It was only a quick tidbit, and it wasn't even a good one. The Newtonian physics was described as "possibly frustrating". This author should be converted to the faith :-)
announced Independence War 2. This isn't big news, but the official announcement is always a good sign that development is proceeding apace. The interesting (and possibly frustrating) thing about Independence War is its use of Newtonian physics in the gameplay. It's certainly more realistic. Whether it's more fun than flying around in a much more simplified flight model in games such as Wing Commander and X-Wing is another question.

The Merciful, of Buda5, has been kind enough to inform the I-War community of these new previews and screenshots for Independence War II: The Edge of Chaos. The previews don't say much you havn't already seen, but the screenshots are great! The articles are at:

The Ball is indeed rolling, as Independence War II: The Edge of Chaos was officially announced today! An article at Bluesnews (Never heard of it...) hasthe press release by Infogrames as to the new game. Click here to go to the article. Here are some key new features of the game:
The Independence War site was updated too, with a new I-War II section. The question as to how long after the Independence War does this game take place has been answered in this snippet from the Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos page:
.: Free form universe lets players roam 16 star systems, interacting with dynamically generated space traffic
.: Ability to tailor your ship and weapons payload through piracy and trading
.: User-friendly interface means no more keyboard overlays required
.: Engineering panel allows players to effect repairs and monitor and customize their ship's energy resources
.: A variety of realistically modeled starships to pilot
.: Online multi-play for the PC with Death Match and Team Missions
One hundred years have passed since the end of the first Independence War, and far from the riches of Sol and the core systems, trouble is brewing.
The Badlands Cluster: Eight barely habitable star systems populated by the flotsam and jetsam of humanity who, after years of oppression at the hands of greedy corporations and ruthless marauder bands, are ready to fight back.
15 years after witnessing the murder of his father by the sadistic heir to a corporate fortune, Cal Johnston plans his revenge. With the help of a small band of escaped prisoners - and a dead war hero immortalised in silicon - his actions inadvertently become the trigger for rebellion.
The stage is set for history to repeat itself, and force mankind once more over the Edge of Chaos...

Somehow, AlphaRomeo's page slipped my links page! :o So, I have added the link to this great site, which features Pablo Luna's fabulous 3D artwork for I-War. Pablo is the one who made that frigate I really wanted :-) Check out the links page

It was 88 years ago that the famous R.M.S Titanic sank, at 2:45 in the morning with the loss of 1,522 lives. Let us all mourn this historical tragedy.
In other bad news, my DefiantMod files were deleted accidentaly, so Geocities thought the account was just a dummy account for data. Unfortunatly, it was half that; my lastest COSA trailer was hosted there. So, please ignore the most recent COSA trailer links until I can upload it again and get this all sorted out.

+ (Later) I have uploaded what I think to be my best trailer yet. It is of my COSA mission, soon to come out (I think I can work out a bug in it). Featuring some music that went well with the scenes, click here to download or go to Downloads -> Movies. Note that this file is a little large, being an 8.5 MB zipped Smacker. Also, I forgot to make the Smacker an exe, so to play the file, you have do download the Smacker player from http://www.radgametools.com. Sorry about that :o.
Feel free to mail feedback to Monliths@yahoo.com. I would really appreciate that!
+ Twohours has given me his mighty fine missions submitted for the scripting competition! They are a few adventures of the Dreadnaught. I have only gotten to test two of them, but they are very good and original. So, click here to download, or go to Downloads -> Missions.
